Kris is a talented singer, composer, and keyboardist who holds an A.A. degree in Vocal Performance and a B.A. in Choral Music Education, and who performs in a variety of styles including classical, jazz, rock, pop, theater, gospel, and blues. He has received several vocal scholarships and awards like his 1st place in Solo Voice in the SCUF American Music Competition (2013), the “Outstanding Soloist” Award at the Reno Jazz Festival (2014), and the Helen J. Walker “Future Educators” Scholarship award (2014).
Kris has taught voice and piano for 7 years in both group and individual classes. His teaching experience includes theater direction for 6th-8th graders, voice instruction at multiple studios, and teaching after-school programs. He leads musicianship classes at The All American Boys Chorus in Costa Mesa and is finishing his teaching credential at Cal State Fullerton. He also served as the assistant choral director of several classical chorals and jazz ensembles.
Kris actively performs throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, and surrounding areas. This includes his current work as the worship leader and music director at his church, and several vocal ensembles, whether they be master chorals, a sacred chorus, a gospel choir, or the award-winning vocal jazz ensembles “Just Jazz” and “Clockwork.” He has shared stages at Carnegie Hall, Segerstrom Concert Hall, The Walt Disney Concert Hall, and more, with performers such as Andrea Bocelli, M83, Andréa Crouch, John Proulx, and others.
