John has been a musician for over twenty years, thanks to coming from a long tradition of musicians in his family. He composed his first piece when he was fourteen and is now an active composer for orchestra, choir, string quartets and more. He is also a singer/songwriter who performed with his former band at various venues as a staple of the local music scene.
John teaches a variety of band and orchestra instruments, as well as skills like composition, songwriting, and recording/producing. His 15 years of experience teaching both privately and at public schools gives him a strong foundation to draw on for every student. He also works as a freelance accompanist for both singers and instrumentalists and continues to perform as both a solo and collaborative pianist.
John received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley where he quickly established himself in the music scene as both a pianist and composer. John is currently finishing a master's degree in composition at the California State University, Fullerton School of Music. He's had the pleasure of performing and publishing his music - for example, to the International Music Score Library Project. He plans to continue writing and performing his music while teaching and networking with fellow musicians.
